Striking Distance Studios has announced that it has decided to cancel the Japanese release of The Callisto Protocol as they don’t believe it will be granted a CERO rating in its current state. Striking Distance Studios claim that censoring or toning down the content would not provide “the experience that players expect” hinting that the game may never make its way there. The studio has confirmed that those that pre-ordered the game in Japan will be refunded.
The Callisto Protocol is due out on the 2nd of December 2022 for the PlayStation 5, PC and Xbox Series.
