Sony Interactive Entertainment’s London Studio has announced that it is working on a co-op fantasy game set in London for the PlayStation 5. The studio posted several job listings for a live-service fantasy game with magic-based combat earlier this year. London Studio first began hiring for the project in 2021. The game is being built on London’s Studio in-house Soho Engine, which also powered Blood & Truth. No other specific details were shared.
Here’s what Stuart Whyte, co-head of London Studio, had to say:
We are proud of the history and innovation that we’ve done over the years, supporting all sorts of PlayStation technology, whether that’s virtual reality, or augmented reality, or microphones, or whatever. With this project, we really wanted to explore some new avenues and set ourselves some new challenges. We definitely wanted to try something a little bit different, and I think this new project really channels our ‘brave’ value and allows us to push ourselves on the ‘curious’ front, too. It’s an exciting future, it really is. Innovation is always going to be at the heart of what we do. If you look at our heritage and the titles we’ve done, there are a lot of firsts in there. And that will continue.
