Kadokawa Corporation has announced that it has formed a capital alliance with Tencent to strengthen its game development output. Tencent invested $246 million and has been issued 4,862,200 shares of common stock, giving them a 6.86% stake in the company. This is Tencent’s largest investment in Japan to date. Kadokawa Corporation is the parent company of From Software and is one of Japan’s biggest media companies. No other details were revealed. Kadokawa also formed a capital alliance with Sony Group and CyberAgent, both were issued with 1,422,475 shares from third-party sources, giving each company a 1.93% stake in the company.
