Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that it will be discontinuing the Accolades feature on PlayStation 5 in the Fall of 2022. The feature is being removed as it “hasn’t seen the level of usage we [SIE] anticipated”. Sony however still encourages users to “continue to send positive messages to one another”.
PS5 Accolades are rewards that work similarly to Overwatch endorsements, after a multiplayer match the “Give Accolade” text will appear and you will be able to give an Accolade to players from the game. Accolades are sent anonymously and you can only send one out per match.
There are three different accolades; Helpful, Welcoming, and Good Sport.
