CD Projekt Red has announced that net profit for the first quarter of the 2021 financial year was 64.7% below expectations and that net revenue decreased by 2% year-over-year. Net profit in Q1 was 32.5 million Zlotys (around $8.9 million) and revenue was 197.6 million Zlotys (around $53.95 million).
CD Projekt Red did not provide an updated sales figure for Cyberpunk 2077 but they did confirm that over 60% of all products sales in the first quarter were from Cyberpunk 2077. Reports from various analysts claim that Cyberpunk 2077 has yet to sell 1 million copies in 2021, CD Projekt Red had expected total sales for the game to hit 27 million by the end of the year.
CD Projekt Red also reaffirmed their commitment to Cyberpunk 2077 by confirming that they will continue working on fixes for the game and that they will be releasing both free DLC and paid expansions for the game in an attempt to re-engage players. The studio also expects to begin multiple high budget projects in 2022 and are looking into various acquisition opportunities.
CD Projekt Red did not provide any updates as to when Cyberpunk 2077 will be returning to the PlayStation Store.
