Square Enix has announced that the The Rising Tide expansion for Final Fantasy XVI will release on the 18th of April 2024 for the PlayStation 5. The expansion is included in the expansion pass for the game but will also be available to purchase individually for $19,99.
The Rising Tide expansion adds a new campaign in which you explore the story of Leviathan, the long lost Eikon of Water. It also adds a new companion, increased level caps, new weapons, new Eikon abilities and much more. Launching alongside the expansion is a free update.
The free update will add quality-of-life improvements like Quick Complete which allows you to return to quest givers after completing missions. Custom button layouts, new Orchestrion Rolls, changes to the accessory and ability system and much more will also be included in the free update.
Final Fantasy XVI is currently available on the PlayStation 5, a PC version of the game is also currently in development.
