Hiroshi Takai, director of Final Fantasy XVI, has confirmed that there is currently no day-one patch planned for the game as the team wants those without an internet connection to be able to enjoy the game out of the box. Takai-san has however said that a day-one patch may still arrive if the team receive feedback from the previews of the game. Whilst this is still somewhat of a surprise Square Enix has confirmed that it has spent quite a bit of time polishing the game.
Final Fantasy XVI is due out on the 22nd of June 2023 for the PlayStation 5, Yoshi-san has also confirmed that he does not expect any delay unless an “act of God” prevents the team from doing work.
