Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that Guerrilla Games’ Horizon Forbidden West has sold over 8.4 million copies worldwide across the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. The Horizon series, which includes Horizon Zero Dawn, Horizon Forbidden West and Horizon Call of the Mountain, has sold over 32.7 million copies worldwide across the PS4, PS5 and PC.

Horizon Forbidden West was released on the 18th of February 2022, the game is also available in the PlayStation Plus Extra catalogue. Horizon Forbidden West reportedly cost over €110 million ($118 million) to develop and market, making it the most expensive production in Netherlands history.

If this is true it would mean that the game has been quite a success for PlayStation and with the recently released expansion for the game it looks like the profits will continue to soar. The $118 million budget might also seem like quite a bit but it’s worth noting that the Saints Row reboot cost over $100 million and The Callisto Protocol cost over $160 million.
