Andrew Wilson, CEO of Electronic Arts, has revealed that the company will be reducing its workforce by 6% as part of a restructuring program. This means that around 775 people will lose their jobs, Wilson however insists that the company “is operating from a position of strength”.

Wilson claims that the layoffs were made only where necessary and that EA provided opportunities for employees to transition into other projects where possible. Where transitions were not possible is where the layoffs took place. EA will provide severance pay to all employees affected by the layoffs.
