Sony Interactive Entertainment has confirmed that it will be reducing the price of the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Digital Edition in India effective from the 1st of April 2023. The price will be cut by Rs 5,000 effectively bringing the price back to the original launch price of the console. The standard PS5 console will go down to Rs 49,990 and the digital edition console will go down to Rs 39,990.

Sony Interactive Entertainment previously confirmed in November 2022 that it would be raising the price of the PS5 in almost all territories except the United States due to the “global economic environment”. The price decrease has to be confirmed for any other regions but given that Sony seem to have sorted out the production issues for the console it could very well be on the horizon.
