Dusty Welch, general manager of Apex Legends, and Jason McCord, design director of Apex Legends, have announced that they have left Respawn Entertainment to co-found a new independent studio. The studio, named Wildlight Entertainment, is made up of former Apex Legends, Call of Duty, PUBG, Titanfall and Valorant developers.

Other notable employees at Wildlight Entertainment include Chad Grenier, game director at Respawn Entertainment, and Mohammad Alavi, creative director at Respawn Entertainment. The studio is currently made up of 28 employees and have been working on a new IP for “some time”. The project has also been fully funded but no details about who the investors are were shared.
