A new report from Fellowship of Fans has claimed that Amazon has acquired the Tomb Raider IP from The Embracer Group for $600 million. Whilst Amazon has yet to confirm this, Fellowship of Fans previously leaked the plot of Rings of Power months prior to the premiere so it’s worth noting.
The Hollywood Reporter has also claimed that Amazon wants to make Tomb Raider a “Marvel-like franchise” and expand upon its universe with interconnected movies, tv and games. Amazon Games has also confirmed that it will be publishing the next Tomb Raider game.
The Embracer Group Crystal Dynamics, Eidos Montreal, and Square Enix Montreal including the IP for Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, Thief, Legacy of Kain and more from Square Enix for $300 million.
