Hajime Tabata, director of Final Fantasy XV and founder of JP Games, has confirmed that his studio is currently working on two “large-scale titles”, each in collaboration with a “major company”. Tabata-san has also revealed that the first title has completed the pre-production stage and is an experimental title. Tabata-san claims that this title is an evolution of Final Fantasy Type-0 and will be a RPG with a multiplayer experience. The title will have a smaller campaign than traditional RPGs.
The second title has only just begun its development and is still quite a long way out. Tabata-san has also confirmed that this will be a full-scale AAA RPG with a Norse setting. Tabata-san claims that this game will be an evolution of Final Fantasy XV which also promotes free exploration. In May 2022 Oops Leaks reported that Tabata-san had been working on a new title with PlayStation which was a PS5 console exclusive, meaning that it would likely come to PC too.
Tabata-san did not specify which companies JP Games is collaborating with.
