Hiroki Totoki, CFO of Sony Group, has revealed that Sony Interactive Entertainment has managed to attract new audiences with the PlayStation 5 as 30% of the active userbase did not own a PlayStation 4. It should be noted however that this metric is all users that played on a PlayStation 5, not individual users that purchased the console. This figure could be inflated by users that have multiple accounts on the same console or for parents that have individual profiles for their children. Even if this were the case, it wouldn’t affect the percentage too much.
