Aniplex has announced that the fourth episode of NieR:Automata Ver 1.1a has been delayed indefinitely, effectively putting the series on hold. The production committee for the anime have cited the rise in COVID-19 cases in Japan as the main reason for the delay. The anime will continue to air the first three episodes from the 28th of January 2023 until a return date is confirmed.
