Yosuke Matsuda, president of Square Enix, has revealed that the company have several blockchain games in development. Matsuda-san claims that the blockchain games will be based on original IP and that Square Enix will use “aggressive” investment and business development in the blockchain pursuit.

Matsuda-san also hopes that blockchain games will grow in popularity in 2023. Square Enix are currently on Symbiogenesis, a story-based NFT collection game. The game will have over 10,000 NFTs and will feature a large cast of characters. Square Enix has partnered with LGG, an NFT club in Japan, to market the game.
