UPDATE: Capcom has confirmed that Monster Hunter Rise will come to the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series on the 20th of January 2023. It will not include the Sunbreak expansion and it will not support cross-platform play. PS4 and PS5 users will however be able to match together.

Insider Gaming has reported that Capcom will release Monster Hunter Rise for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series on the 20th of January 2023. It’s claimed that the game will have 4K and 3D audio support on the next-gen systems, the Sunbreak expansion will launch in the Spring of 2023.

This likely means that the expansion will not be included in the PlayStation and Xbox release of the game. The port has been in the works for quite some time and the report has claimed that the announcement is imminent and that it will likely take place during The Game Awards even on the 8th of December 2022.

Monster Hunter Rise is currently available on PC and Switch, it has sold over 11 million copies worldwide.
