Cory Barlog, creative director at Sony Santa Monica Studio, has revealed that it is currently working on several projects. Barlog did not provide any further specifics. We do know that Barlog was working on another title whilst Eric Williams led the team working on God of War Ragnarok.

Barlog also previously confirmed that he wanted to pitch a new IP to Sony Interactive Entertainment so it’s likely that is one of the projects going on at the studio. Eric Williams, director of God of War Ragnarok, also confirmed that the studio will not be releasing any expansions for the game so we can rule that out.

Given PlayStation’s recent obsession with live-service games we can assume that the studio is working on at least two new titles, a sequel to Ragnarok, Barlog’s new IP and possibly a live-service title if Barlog’s title does not have a multiplayer component. Sony Santa Monica Studio employed over 400 employees as of November 2022, around 200 employees worked on Ragnarok.
