Bao Bo, director of China game production for Sony, has confirmed that Sony will be increasing its investment in Sony Interactive Entertainment’s China Hero Project. Bao Bo claims that a minimum of 1 million yuan ($140,000) in the games it signs in the incubation project. Sony has also adjusted its requirements so that both independent developers and smaller studios can apply.

Sony Interactive Entertainment will also begin publishing more games from the PlayStation China Hero Project and PlayStation Studios will also be assisting with the development of games in the project. Sony also believes that the China Hero Project will improve the sales of the PS5 console in China. PlayStation’s China Hero Project has invested in 17 projects to date, only 9 of which have been released.
