Michael Mumbauer, former head at Striking Distance Studios, has revealed that Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Visual Arts Services Group assisted with the development of The Callisto Protocol. Mumbauer, formerly of PlayStation, said that Visual Arts Services Group assisted with motion capture and cinematics for the game.

Striking Distance Studios used the same stage that Sony Santa Monica Studio uses for God of War for the production of The Callisto Protocol. Mumbauer did not reveal any specifics about the assistance but claimed that it was not a small task. This is not the first AAA release to make use of Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Visual Arts Services Group, Capcom also worked with the studio to produce the motion capture and cinematics for Resident Evil Village.

The Callisto Protocol is due out on the 2nd of December 2022 for the PlayStation 5, PC and Xbox Series.
