Remedy Entertainment has announced that it is co-developing and co-publishing a sequel to 2019’s Control with 505 Games, publisher of the first game. The game was previously teased by Remedy Entertainment as a “bigger-budget Control-game”. Remedy Entertainment has also confirmed that Control 2 is its biggest investment to date.

it is currently in the concept stage and is being developed on the Northlight engine, the engine that powered the first game. Control 2 is in development for the PlayStation 5, PC and Xbox Series. Remedy Entertainment will publish the game on PC whilst 505 Games will publish the game on consoles. It’s unclear as to how 505 Games will assist the development of the game.

Raffi Galante, co-CEO of 505 Games, has also confirmed that Control has sold over 3 million copies worldwide across the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series. The last sales update was in December 2020 when the game sold 2 million. The game has also been played by over 10 million people as of August 2021.
