Rieko Kodama, an artist, director and producer for Sega, passed away on the 9th of May 2022. She was 59 years old. The news was first spotted in the memorial included in the recently released Sega Drive Mini 2 console, prompting fans to enquire about the news. Yuji Naka, former director at Sega, then confirmed that she had passed away on the 9th of May. No other details were shared.
