David Grivel, director of the Splinter Cell remake, has announced that he has left Ubisoft after 11 years with the company, a reason for his departure was not provided. Grivel did not reveal what he plans to do next but claims that it is time for him to “go on a new adventure”.

The Splinter Cell remake will be rewritten for modern audiences, it will retain the “spirit and themes” of the original game but is also aiming to make the characters and world more “authentic and believable”. Platforms and a release window for the game have yet to be announced.
