GfK, a data and analytics company, has announced that the PlayStation 5 has sold over 2 million units in the United Kingdom, it is tied with the PlayStation 3 as the fourth fastest console to reach the milestone. The PS5 is currently tracking behind the PS4, PS2 and Wii.
GfK has also noted that the increased price of the PlayStation 5 is not deterring consumers and that the console is still suffering major stock shortages. The PS5 became the fastest-selling PlayStation console in the UK but sales dropped steeply due to a lack of supply.
Sony Interactive Entertainment has yet to comment on the milestone.
