Hermen Hulst, head of PlayStation Studios, has confirmed that Sony Interactive Entertainment is looking into acquisitions that will strengthen its push in the PC and mobile sector. Hulst did not go into specifics about this but Sony Group has committed to strengthening PlayStation’s multi-platform presence and that both Steam and the Epic Games Store are key platforms for growth.

Sony Interactive Entertainment also recently acquired Savage Game Studios, a Berlin-based mobile game studio founded in 2020. The studio is the first in the newly formed PlayStation Studios Mobile Division, a separately run division from PlayStation Studios that will focus on “innovative, on-the-go experiences” based on existing and new IP.

A PlayStation Launcher is also rumored to be in development with game files for the PC release of Marvel’s Spider-Man specifically mentioning “PlayStation PC Launcher” and PSN integration. Sony Interactive Entertainment also recently updated the PC page on the official PlayStation website to state that it is not currently possible to transfer saves between PC and console and that it is not currently possible to earn trophies on PC, hinting that both features are in the pipeline.
