A job listing from Ubisoft for a scriptwriter for its upcoming remake of Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell has revealed that the game will be rewritten for modern audiences. The remake will retain the “spirit and themes” of the original game but is also aiming to make the characters and world more “authentic and believable”. No specifics on what any of this means was revealed but it’s worth noting that the same thing was said for the Saints Row reboot which didn’t hit well with critics or fans. The reboot also failed to meet the Embracer Group’s expectations.
