Ubisoft has announced that the Assassin’s Creed franchise has sold over 200 million copies worldwide making it one of 12 video game franchises to surpass the 200 million milestone. Assassin’s Creed, which is also the best-selling Ubisoft franchise, was the second fastest franchise to reach 200 million, beaten only by the Wii series of games.

Marc-Alexis Côté, executive producer of the Assassin’s Creed franchise, has also confirmed that not all of the upcoming games in the series will be 150-hour-long RPGs. Côté claims that some of the titles will be more akin to the original games in terms of length and design.

According to Côté Assassin’s Creed Infinity will allow Ubisoft to provide “different experiences of different sizes”. Future Assassin’s Creed games will also ditch the future and out of the Animus gameplay segments beginning with Assassin’s Creed Mirage. These experiences will instead take place in Assassin’s Creed Infinity which Côté describes as being the player’s own unique Animus.
