Adam Kiciński, CEO of CD Projekt Red, has confirmed that the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series versions of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is on track for the planned release in the fourth quarter of 2022. The PS5 and Xbox Series versions of the game will be available for free for existing owners. CD Projekt Red is developing the next-gen versions internally after pulling development from Saber Interactive.

Kiciński has also confirmed that the new Witcher saga will likely consist of more than one game, claiming that the studio is planning with more than one game in mind. CD Projekt Red previously confirmed that a new Witcher game is in development and that it would be built on Unreal Engine 5 with the support of Epic Games as part of a new partnership.
