Deadline has reported that Netflix has cancelled its live-action adaptation of Capcom’s Resident Evil franchise after just one season. The first season was released in July 2022 and failed to convince both critics and viewers to stick with it, the series is currently rated 3.9 on IMDb and failed to meet Netflix’s own expectations. The show generated 72.7 million view time in its launch week, ranking behind only Stranger Things. During the second week it generated 73.3 million, placing third, and during its third week the show didn’t manage to make the top 10.
