Toei’s One Piece Film: Red sold over 1.58 million tickets during its opening weekend at the Japanese Box Office, earning over ¥2.254 billion ($16.9 million). This is 78% more than One Piece Stampede, the previous One Piece movie, made in its first two days. One Piece Film: Red is on track to become the best-grossing movie in the series.

One Piece Film: Red also achieved the second highest opening weekend in the Japanese Box Office history, behind only Kimetsu no Yaiba Movie: Mugen Ressha-hen (Demon Slayer Movie: Infinity Train). The comparison isn’t entirely fair however as the Kimetsu no Yaiba opened on a Friday whilst One Piece Film: Red opened on a Saturday.

The movie will come to the Western cinemas this Fall in Australia, Canada, New Zealand and USA via Crunchyroll, the Western release will be available in both English sub and dub.
