Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that the PlayStation 5 has sold over 21.7 million units worldwide as of the 31st of June 2022. Over 2.4 million PS5 consoles were sold in the three-month period ending on the 31st of June 2022, this is up by 100,000 year-over-year.

Sony Interactive Entertainment has also confirmed that there are 47.3 million PlayStation Plus subscribers as of the 31st of June 2022, this is up one million year-over-year. Over 47.1 million games, excluding free software, were sold on the PlayStation Store in the same period, this is down 16.5 million year-over-year. The digital ratio for the period was 79%, which is up 8% year-over-year.

Hiroki Totoki, CFO of Sony Group, has also confirmed that demand for the PS5 is still exceeding supply but also claimed that there has been a significant improvement in component supply. Totoki-san also revealed that Sony expects the supply to improve by the holiday season and that there will be a significant increase to support the release of major first and third-party titles.
