REDICE Studio has announced that DUBU (Jang Sung-Rak), artist for the Solo Leveling Manhwa, passed away on the 23rd of July 2022 from a cerebral haemorrhage from chronic illness. A private ceremony was held by his family and friends. Jang Sung-Rak was also the CEO of REDICE Studio, a studio that produces webtoons.

Aniplex is producing an anime adaptation of the Solo Leveling Manhwa, it will air on Crunchyroll in 2023. The anime is being produced at A-1 Pictures, the studio behind Fairy Tail, and it is being directed by Shunsuke Nakashige, director of the Keijo!!!!!!!! anime series.
