Atlus has announced that existing owners of Persona 5 Royal will not be able to upgrade to the PlayStation 5 version of the game when it launches on the 21st of October 2022 for new platforms. Instead, Atlus asks existing owners to “purchase the PlayStation 5 version of the game when you play with the PlayStation 5”.

The new release of Persona 5 Royal is due out on the PlayStation 5, PC, Switch and Xbox, it will include all DLC from the PlayStation 4 version of the game. It’s currently unclear as to whether the game will feature any performance improvements but the trailer was running at 60 fps.
