Electronic Arts have announced that Skate 4 has been renamed Skate and that it will be a free-to-play game with live-service elements. The game will be available on PlayStation, PC and Xbox, it will support cross-play and cross-progression across all platforms. Skate will not feature pay-to-win microtransactions, all microtransactions will be strictly cosmetic. The game will also release all maps for free.
Skate is in development at Full Circle, a new studio that was built specifically for the franchise. Specific platforms and a release window for the game were not revealed.
