A new report from Deadline has claimed that Sony Pictures and PlayStation Productions’ live-action movie adaptation of the Gran Turismo series will premiere in August 2023. The movie will be directed by Neill Blomkamp, director of District 9, and based on the real-life story of a Gran Turismo player that became a professional racing driver. The movie is in production at Columbia Pictures with Jason Hall (American Sniper) working on the script. Deadline has also claimed that Sony has been trying to produce a Gran Turismo movie since 2013. No other details were revealed.
