Capcom has revealed the first expansion for Resident Evil Village, the expansion is titled The Winters’ Expansion and will launch on the 28th of October 2022 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series. The expansion will also include a new third-person mode for the game and new Mercenaries content with Chris Redfield, Heisenberg, and Lady Dimitrescu as playable characters. The entire base game and expansion will be playable in the third-person mode.

Resident Evil Re: Verse, the multiplayer spin-off will also release on the 28th of October 2022. Capcom has also announced Resident Evil Village Gold Edition, which includes the base game, expansion and Resident Evil Re: Verse, will launch on the same day as the expansion. Resident Evil Re: Verse, which was included with Resident Evil Village, could also be getting a paid standalone release but this has yet to be confirmed.

Capcom has also confirmed that the development of the PSVR2 and MAC versions of Resident Evil Village is now in full production.

Those yearning for dark shadows got a first glimpse of the long-awaited downloadable content for Resident Evil Village. “The Winters’ Expansion” arrives October 28, 2022 on all available platforms.

The new content includes:

– A Third-Person Mode for the campaign.
– “The Mercenaries: Additional Orders” featuring new stages and playable characters Chris Redfield, Heisenberg, and Lady Dimitrescu.
– A continuation of the story in “Shadows of Rose.”

Set 16 years after the events of Resident Evil Village, this new tale follows Rose Winters, the daughter of main protagonist Ethan, as she struggles with her terrifying powers. Players must explore and survive a warped and mysterious realm inside the consciousness of the Megamycete in search of a cure.
