Jim Ryan, CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, has revealed that PlayStation will be publishing more titles on PC and mobile and that by the 2025 financial year he expects 54% of all published games to be on PS5, 27% on PC and 19% on mobile. This seemingly rules out day-and-date releases on PC.
Ryan has also revealed that Sony Interactive Entertainment made $80 million from its PC division in the 2021 financial year, up from the $35 million it made in the previous one. Ryan expects this to grow to $300 million in the 2022 financial year. Sony Interactive Entertainment has the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection due out for PC later this year.
Jim Ryan has also confirmed that Sony Interactive will be working with “respected, established, and successful” mobile game developers to outsource work based on popular PlayStation IP. Ryan has confirmed that PlayStation Studios will be recruiting and building mobile game development teams. Mobile projects won’t necessarily be exclusive to mobile platforms as Sony want to be cross-platform where able.
Sony Interactive Entertainment also confirmed that PC sales for the following titles:
Days Gone: over 852,000 copies, over $22.7 million in revenue
God of War: over 971,000 copies, over $26.2 million in revenue
