Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy XV has sold over 10 million copies worldwide across the PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One since releasing in November 2016. The last sales update had the game at 9.5 million copies sold as of February 2021.

The next mainline game in the series, Final Fantasy XVI, is in development for the PlayStation 5 and according to Yoshi-P, producer of the game, we should be expecting a trailer for it soon.

Whilst Final Fantasy XV is one of the best selling games in the franchise it still sold sell than both Tomb Raider reboot, which sold over 14.5 million copies, and Rise of the Tomb Raider, which sold over 11.8 million copies.
