FIFA has announced that it has entered discussions with several of the “leading game publishers, media companies and investors” to produce a new football simulation title for release by 2024. Gianni Infantino, president of FIFA, has confirmed that the FIFA brand of football games will continue despite the ending of the partnership with Electronic Arts.

FIFA has also confirmed that there are several “non-simulation games” in development, including one based on the 2022 Qatar World Cup. Discussions for a game based on the Women’s World Cup have also begun with several publishers. Future FIFA titles will also not be exclusive to a single publisher as FIFA want to provide players with a number of options. No other details were revealed.

Here’s what Infantino had to say:

I can assure you that the only authentic, real game that has the FIFA name will be the best one available for gamers and football fans. The FIFA name is the only global, original title. FIFA 23, FIFA 24, FIFA 25 and FIFA 26, and so on – the constant is the FIFA name and it will remain forever and remain THE BEST. The interactive gaming and esports sector is on a path of unrivalled growth and diversification. FIFA’s strategy is to ensure we can make the most of all future options and ensure a wide range of products and opportunities for gamers, fans, member associations and partners.
