Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that over 19.3 million PlayStation 5 consoles have been shipped worldwide as of the 31st of March 2022. Over 117.2 million PlayStation 4 consoles have been shipped within the same period. The PS5 shipped 2 million units in the three months ending on the 31st of March and the PS5 shipped 100,000 units in the same period. The PS5 is tracking over 3 million units below Sony’s own expectations.

Sony Interactive Entertainment also revealed that there are 47.4 million active PlayStation Plus subscribers as of the 31st of March 2022, this is down 200,000 year-over-year. Over 70.5 million games were sold on the PlayStation Store in the last three months ending on the 31st of March 2022, this is up 9.1 million year-over-year. 14.5 million copies of the total sales were from Sony Interactive Entertainment published titles. The digital ratio was 71%, down from 79% the previous year.
