Kadokawa Games has announced that the Root Letter series has sold over 500,000 copies worldwide since releasing in 2016. The mystery visual novel first launched on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita and has since been ported to PC and mobile devices. Sales of Root Letter: Last Answer, a live-action remake of the game, is also included in this figure. It’s unclear as to whether sales of the sequel series, Root Film, is included. A live-action Hollywood adaptation of Root Letter was in production at Annmarie Sairrino Bailey’s Akatsuki Entertainment but has since been handed over to AMMO Entertainment, no other details about the project were revealed since.
