Motoo Abiko, co-creator of the Doraemon series, has passed away, he was 88 years old. A cause of death was not revealed but Tokyo police have confirmed that they received a call on Thursday morning claiming that he had collapsed but Abiko-san had already passed by the time police could arrive. An investigation is underway but police state that there are no signs of suspicious injuries. Abiko-san also created the Ninja Hattori-Kun, Kaibutsu-Kun, Pro Golfer Saru, and Warau Salesman manga franchises, all of which were a commercial success in Japan.
