MAPPA, the animation studio behind Jujutsu Kaisen and the final season Shingeki no Kyojin, has announced that it is opening a new studio in Osaka, Japan. The new studio will specialize in CGI work, specifically 3DCG, background art, design, editing, finishing and photography. MAPPA say that they chose Osaka as the location for their new studio to cater for creators and students that live in the Kansai area and wish to remain there. Recruitment for the studio has already begun, it’s unclear as to when the studio will begin operating.
