Crunchyroll has announced that Funimation and Wakanim’s anime library will be moving to Crunchyroll, this includes upcoming simulcast content. All new content from the Spring of 2022 will only be available on Crunchyroll, Funimation will continue to stream new episodes from existing simulcast series.

Crunchyroll and Funimation accounts will remain separate so digital copies of anime, watch history and queues will not be transferred over yet however Funimation has confirmed that it is currently working on the process. Crunchyroll has also confirmed that existing Funimation and VRV subscribers that don’t have an active subscription with Crunchyroll will be able to get a 60-day trial.

Sony Group completed the acquisition of Crunchyroll from AT&T in August 2021 for $1.175 billion in cash. Upon completion, it confirmed that a unified service was in the works. A list of which anime has been transferred over is available on the Crunchyroll website, it will be updated over the next couple of weeks.
