Tencent has announced the acquisition of Wake Up Interactive, parent company of Soleil and Valhalla Game Studios. Tencent has acquired a 90% stake in Wake Up Interactive for $44 million. Soleil developed Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker, Ninjala and Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time, the studio are also working on Wanted: Dead. Valhalla Game Studios developed Devil’s Third and Devil’s Third Online. Tencent has also reportedly acquired minority stakes in several other Japanese video game studios with most of the deals being done in private. No other details about the acquisition were revealed.
