Take-Two Interactive has announced updated sales figures for its franchises, revealing that Grand Theft Auto V has sold over 155 million copies worldwide, this is up 5 million since the last update in August 2021. An expanded and enhanced version of Grand Theft Auto V is also due out in 2022 for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series, the game will not offer a free next-gen upgrade for existing owners of the game.
Take-Two Interactive also confirmed that Red Dead Redemption 2 has sold over 39 million copies worldwide, up 1 million since the last update in August 2021. Take-Two Interactive also claim that the game is the second-best-selling game in the United States over the last 3 years. The Red Dead series has sold over 62 million copies worldwide.
The 2K NBA franchise also surpassed 118 million copies sold, up from 112 million in August 2021, making it the best selling basketball franchise in the world. Borderlands 3 is also nearing 14 million copies sold, the game was at 13 million as of August 2021. The Borderlands series has sold over 72 million copies worldwide.
