Sony Group Corporation has released its financial results for the second quarter of the 2021 financial year, this is for the three month period ending on the 30th of September 2021. Below you can find a breakdown of both Sony’s overall performance and Sony Interactive Entertainment’s performance.
Highlights:
3.3 million PlayStation 5 consoles were shipped over the three month period. The PS5 has shipped over 13.4 million units as of the 30th of September 2021.
200,000 PlayStation 4 consoles were shipped over the three month period. The PS4 has shipped over 116.6 million units as of the 30th of September 2021.
76.4 million games were sold across the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, 7.6 million of which were first-party titles.
The digital ratio for the three month period was 62%.
PlayStation Plus subcriptions are over 47.2 million, this is up year-over-year and from the previous quarter.
Monthly active users on PS4 and PS5 are over 104 million.
This was the best Q2 performance for both PlayStation and any video game platform holder.
