Rockstar Games has announced that the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series versions of Grand Theft Auto V has been delayed to March 2022, the next-gen version of the game was scheduled to release on the 11th of November 2021. A standalone release of Grand Theft Auto Online will launch alongside the next-gen versions of GTA V and will be free on the PS5 for the first three months, PlayStation Plus members can also claim GTA$1,000,000 at the start of every month up until the release of the PS5 version.
The game will not offer a free upgrade, it’s currently unclear as to whether there will be an upgrade path. No specifics on how the next-gen versions will perform were revealed. Rockstar Games also confirmed that they have “more fun surprises to share” for the 20th anniversary of Grand Theft Auto III which is on the 22nd of October 2021, some of the “surprises” will be specifically for GTA Online players.
