Sebastian Wojciechowski, CEO of People Can Fly, has revealed that the studio has not received any royalties from Outriders, meaning that the game has not yet turned a profit for Square Enix. Wojciechowski also revealed that he estimates that Outriders sold between 2-3 million copies, which he believed would guarantee a profit.
Wojciechowski suggests that this could be due to distribution agreements made by Square Enix, such as launching the game on Xbox Game Pass and marketing expenses. Finally, Wojciechowski confirmed that they have been working on new content for Outriders and that more details would be shared soon.
People Can Fly are currently working on a new game with Square Enix and another with Take-Two Interactive, the studio is also in the planning stages for a third title which it will self publish.
