Studio Khara has announced that the Shin Evangelion Gekijouban: || (Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time) movie will be getting an updated theatrical release, the new release has been titled Shin Evangelion Gekijouban: || Extra (Evangelion: 3.0+1.01) and will feature revisions to several animation sequences. Studio Khara has however confirmed that the revisions are minor and won’t change the story. The updated movie will premiere on the 12th of June 2021 in Japan.
